MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Dave Sanderson resigned as Barry University’s rowing head coach to take the head coaching job at the University of Miami.

Sanderson coached the Buccaneers to an NCAA Division II runner-up finish in 2013 after Barry ascended to No. 1 in the national poll – a perch it held for most of the season. Barry won the Sunshine State Conference title in 2013, and collected finals victories at the Dad Vail, Knecht Cup and Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships. Barry’s Varsity 8 won 14 of 16 races during the 2012-13 season.

Sanderson spent the 2006 season as an assistant at Miami.

A national search to find Sanderson’s replacement will begin immediately.
