BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. – Barry University’s men’s soccer team felt to Dowling Sunday, 3-1, in the final game of an east coast road-trip.

For the second time in as many games the Bucs gave up an early goal, this time in the 6th minute of the match, and were forced to play from behind.

Thorsen Marcus of Dowling received a cross from Raffaele Sorbara and found the right side of the net for the Golden Lions’ first goal.

Trailing 1-0, Thomas Coombes struck a pair of shots, a header inside the box and a look from 18 yards out, but keeper Chris Friedl came up with the save each time.

Dowling added another goal 41st minute on a header by Chris Posillico to take a 2-0 lead into the half.

The Bucs looked to get themselves back into the game, but Dowling added another goal in the 57th minute to stretch the lead to 3-0.

Junior midfielder Nico Gercke scored his first goal as a Buccaneer in the 85th minute to put Barry on the board after coming up with the ball following a scramble in the box and putting it home.

Barry returns to action on Wednesday when they host SSC foe Tampa at 7 p.m. Live-stats and video broadcast will be available through the Barry University athletics website, GOBARRYBUCS.COM.
