KANSAS CITY, Miss. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has announced the 2013 all-region teams and Barry University standout, Thomas Coombes, was selected to the Continental Tire NCAA Division II All-South Region Second-Team.

The Buccaneers’ leading scorer continues to add to his accolades this fall after already garnering All-Sunshine State Conference honorable mention and Daktronics Second-Team All-South Region honors as a sophomore.

Coombes helped lead the Bucs to their second SSC Tournament Championship in 2013. The Buccaneers entered the tournament as the No. 4 seeded team, but fought their way past Florida Southern in the first round, defeating tournament host and No. 1 seeded Saint Leo in the semifinal match in double-overtime and capped off the run with a thrilling double-overtime penalty kick shootout versus their rivals the Fighting Knights of Lynn.

Four of Coombes’ team-high nine goals were game winners. In all, 12 players represented the Sunshine State Conference in the first or second team.
