Men’s Soccer looks to get back winning form against Florida Tech

This past weekend saw Men’s Soccer just nine seconds away from notching its second win on the season, but a late goal by Embry-Riddle and a goal less over time period meant that the Bucs had to settle for a draw.

So on Wednesday night  Coach Steve McCrath’s men look to get back to winning way as they take on conference foe, Florida Tech at 4:30 pm in the first of Barry’s “Plus-2” games against SSC opponents that count only for the regular season records.

Getting a victory will depend on the performances of players such as Frank Lusting and Connor Randel, who both have three goals apiece, as well as one game winning goal respectively.

A win is also dependent on the defensive efforts of players like goalkeeper Robby Shearer, who has 19 saves on the season in 380 minutes played.

Women’s Soccer looking to continue undefeated run Wednesday Night

After their first three games, Barry Women’s Soccer goes into Wednesday’s undefeated and only scored upon on once.  Coach Denise Brolly’s squad has won in a different way each game: a through 3-0 domination against Flagler to begin the season, a comeback 2-1 win over Lee and a narrow 1-0 victory against North Georgia.

Now the Bucs return Wednesday night to take on conference rival Florida Tech at 7:00 pm. Although Florida Tech is a SSC team, this game will count as a “Plus-2” game instead of counting towards the Bucs’ conference standing.

On Wednesday night the Bucs will look to players such as Amanda Traynor and Tamara Vuckovich to bring the attacking threat that’s been so potent so far this season.

Traynor has two goals on the season including a game winner against North Georgia.

Vuckovich has two assists on the year and a free kick goal in the 68th minute against Lee that sparked a comeback win for the Bucs.

On the defensive side of the ball, goalkeeper Becca Rodgers has been solid in the net, playing all 270 minutes of the season so far and allowing only one goal off of 21 shots faced, and making five saves so far.
