Buccaneer Field

Buccaneer Field

Barry University is fortunate to have many quality athletic facilities, including Buccaneer Field, home of the softball program, one of the top facilities in South Florida.

Barry University has established a powerful tradition at Buccaneer Field, compiling a 26-year overall record of 448-155-1 (.743). The Bucs have posted winning records in 25 of the 26 years at Buccaneer Field, including a perfect 17-0 in 1991 and 31-5 in 1990 to set the record for home wins. Buccaneer Field was also site of the NCAA South Regional Tournament in 1997, 2002, 2003 and 2008.

The facility includes a grandstand and press area, constructed in 2002, and a Daktronics scoreboard, installed in 2006, with inning-by-inning results. Located behind the right field fence, the scoreboard is 24 feet long and 12 feet high. A public address system, with new (for 2011) full-range speakers, keeps the fans informed and entertained.

Buccaneer Field

Buccaneer Field’s dimensions are 190 feet down the lines, 220 feet to center field, and 200 feet in the alleys.
