LA JOLLA, Calif. -- Barry University men's tennis team beat No. 10 Fresno Pacific, 8-1, Thursday at UC-San Diego in a neutral site match.

The No. 1 Buccaneers (11-0) changed up their lineup after struggling for a 5-4 win in their toughest battle of the season a day earlier.

Barry coach George Samuel inserted Ollie Lemaitre into the No. 1 doubles slot, pairing him together with Ahmed Triki, and moved Fabian Groetsch to No. 3 doubles to play with Renato Lombardi. Lemaitre was the lift the No. 1 doubles flight needed on this day as he and Triki beat Michael Tmykiw and Thomas Gely, 8-5.

Groetsch and Lombardi defeated Leonardo Urquidi and Brendan Aguilar, 8-5, at No. 3. Romain Costamagna and Leo Vivas beat Kyle Rowe and Stefan Loop, 8-4, at No. 2 to give the Buccaneers a sweep in doubles play.

At No. 1 singles, Triki bounced back from a straight sets loss on Wednesday to win a third-set super tiebreaker battle with Tymkiw, 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 10-8. Gely got the best of Costamagna, who was moved up to No. 2 singles, in another long match, 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 10-4.

Groetsch, ranked No. 12 in singles, defeated Rowe, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3, who was bumped down to No. 3. Vivas, the 37th-ranked singles player in the country, defeated Aguilar in the third match that went to a super tiebreaker, 6-4, 1-6, 10-6.

Lombardi defeated Urquidi, 6-3, 7-6 (9-7), at No. 5 singles. Kevin Sielmann, ranked No. 41 in singles, was an easy 6-1, 6-0, winner over Loop at No. 6.

Barry will complete the three-day Southern California trip Friday with a match against No. 12 UC-San Diego at 1 p.m.
