MELBOURNE, Fla. – Barry University men’s tennis team is picked as the preseason favorite in the Sunshine State Conference poll.
The Buccaneers, who went 25-3 last year before capping its season in the NCAA Division II semifinals, received five first-place votes and a total of 35 points. Barry won the SSC regular season and tournament titles last year. It was the Bucs’ third straight conference tournament title and 11th overall.
Last year was the first time a regular season champ was crowned in the league.
Lynn was picked second after picking up two first-place votes and 31 points. Rollins was chosen to finish third.
Barry opens the season Feb. 5 at home against Gustavus Aldophus.
The Sunshine State Conference tournament begins April 23. Regional tournament play begins May 2nd. NCAA National Championship tournament play slated to begin on May 13th.
