WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry University women's tennis players Isabela Miro and Akemi Maehama beat host Rollins College's doubles team of Carli Davis and Mariana Salvador, 8-3, Friday in the opening round of C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational.
All of the other matches were washed out by rain Friday.
Miro advanced to the semifinals, while playing with Bucs sophomore Linda Fritschken, last week at the ITA South Region Championships in Lakeland.
Barry will compete in the tournament throughout the weekend.
