Volleyball hosts Eckerd Saturday at 4 p.m.

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's volleyball team will host Eckerd at 4 p.m. Saturday at Health & Sports Center.

The Buccaneers (8-10, 1-6 Sunshine State Conference) are in the second of four straight league matches all in the confines of HSC.

Barry is coming off a four-set loss to Florida Tech on Wednesday. Eckerd (11-8, 2-4) has won its last two entering Friday night's matchup against FIT in Melbourne.

NET NOTES

UP NEXT: Barry University hosts Eckerd in the second of four straight home matches ... Eckerd played at Florida Tech Friday night before making the trip down to Miami Shores.

EYES ON OPPONENTS: Eckerd won its last two matches at the South Region Crossover before heading to Florida Tech Friday ... Lindsay Biggs averages 3.55 kills per set ... Ali McAlvany averages 3.0 kills per set ... Both are two of the top two defensive players as well, having collected over 370 digs and 65 blocks combined ... Katarina Milojevic is third on the team in kills, while leading the Tritons in blocks ... Madison Burr is the team’s top setter.

3 to 5 ODDS: Barry is 7-7 in three-set matches ... When the match extends into four or five sets, the Bucs are 1-3 with the lone win coming in four sets.

ACES ARE WILD: Barry’s 1.97 aces per set leads the SSC ... Eckerd is fifth at 1.55 ... Bucs Fr. S Jenny Trinidad leads the league at .46 aces per set ... Eckerd is second at .44 ... Barry had a school-record 17 aces vs. Christian Brothers.

SETTING THE TABLE: Fr. Jenny Trinidad has recorded over 30 assists in four of her last five matches ... She had a season-high of 46 in the Bucs’ win at No. 19 West Florida ... She had 42 in a three-set sweep of Valdosta St.

CARRERO’S TORPEDOS: Sr. OH Ashley Carrero has recorded double-digit kills in four straight matches ... She has double figures in seven matches this year ... Her career-high is 27 kills vs. Nova Southeastern on Oct. 2, 2012.

DOWN WITH DIDANOVIC: Fr. MB Ivana Didanovic is coming off a season-high 13 kills in Wednesday’s loss to Florida Tech ... She hit .571 in that match ... The Serbian native has hit over .500 four times this year ... She has committed one error or less in 11 matches, attacking error-free in four matches.

HIGHS & LOWS: Barry has attacked over .300 in three matches this year ... The Bucs opponents have hit over .300 twice ... The Bucs hit under .100 twice, including Wednesday’s loss to the Panthers ... Opponents attacked under .100 three times against the Bucs.
