Barry University Institute for Community Economic Development

BICED programs provide need-based information and business skill development specifically targeted to select Miami-Dade communities. We provide need assessments and skill development programs, link faculty expertise to community needs, develop students' skills for serving the community, and provide a local and centralized forum for gathering and disseminating related and helpful information. The institute is comprised of three distinctive centers with three distinctive missions. We focus on supporting and developing small businesses, non-profit organizations, and community-based business-to-businesses.

The Center for Social Entrepreneurship is focused on local area non-profit organizations and small family-owned businesses.

The Entrepreneurial Institute focuses on addressing the needs of low and moderate income communities and the reduction of economic disparity among communities in Miami-Dade County through business development and job creation.

The Center for Community Economies provides assistance in identifying, developing and networking of community-based businesses.

The BICED offices are located in Barry University's Andreas School of Business in Miami Shores, Florida.
