D. Inez Andreas School of Business gains recognition as CFA Partner Institution

Barry University’s D. Inez Andreas School of Business and its Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program in Finance is recognized by the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFA) under its University Recognition Program. Based in Charlottesville, VA, the CFA institute is the global leader in investment finance education. The Institute awards the prestigious CFA designation to candidates who pass three successive rigorous exams that cover the Institute’s Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK). The CFA charter has global recognition and has long been known as the “Gold Standard” for those working in the investments finance arena around the world.

The initiative was led by associate professor of Accounting Michael Broihahn who was assisted by Finance professors Nichole Castater, Adnan Daghestani, Stephen Morrell and Bruce Payne.

“We are very proud to receive this exceptional recognition and I would like to commend the outstanding work of professor Broihahn and his peers,” said School of Business Dean, Dr. Mandakovic. “This recognition is another example of how our faculty members are dedicated to the success of our students by preparing them to become active contributors in their field of study.”

This prestigious recognition is conferred to accredited university degree programs in Finance that demonstrate substantive alignment with the CFA Institute’s CBOK.

“School of business students majoring in Finance will experience a high-quality curriculum that will better prepare them in the pursuit of the distinguished CFA designation,” said professor Broihahn. “Additionally students will also pledge to uphold the CFA Institute’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct known as the benchmark for investment professionals around the world.”

In addition to being recognized by the CFA Institute, Barry’s Andreas School of Business will also be listed on the institute’s official website and will receive five CFA Program Awareness Scholarships each year to award to senior-level students majoring in Finance who wish to pursue the CFA designation.
