School of Education Doctoral Student Awarded 2010 Florida's Outstanding Art Educator of the Year

Mr. Mark Rosenkrantz, a Doctoral student in the Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction Program at the Adrian Dominican School of Education, was selected as the 2010 Florida's Outstanding Art Educator of the Year by the Florida Art Education Association.

Mark received his award at the 2010 FAEA Conference in Orlando on Saturday, Oct.16, during the FAEA Recognition and Awards Ceremony.

He will attend the NAEA Conference in March as Florida's delegate for National Art Educator of the Year.

Mark is an art teacher at David Lawrence Jr. K-8, as well as a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT).

"My collaboration and research experience with Barry University's Dr. Jill Farrell, in her role as an advocate for action research, teacher professional development, and the role of the arts in education, influenced me to raise the bar in my art teaching practice and partially made this recognition of my career possible," Mark said. "Thank you to Dr. Farrell and Barry for supporting university and classroom teacher partnerships that inspire teachers to inspire their students."

Dr. Jill Beloff Farrell is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Curriculum and Instruction Department at the Adrian Dominican School of Education.
