The Buccaneer hosts conversation about racial & socioeconomic privilege April 12

The Buccaneernewspaper presents “Do You Know That You’re Privileged?” — a conversation about racial and socioeconomic privilege — on Wednesday, April 12, at 2 p.m. in the David Brinkley Studio.

Students will learn more about the concept of privilege and how it informs our behaviors, decisions and opportunities in a post-modern world. This is The Buccaneer’s first-ever open forum about the subject, which will feature a Barry student panel, a dialogue with faculty guests, a privilege experiment and a Q&A session. Refreshments will be served.

Panelists: Barry student leaders and activists

Moderators: Buccaneer Staff Writer Kahelia Smellie and Contributing Writer Brandie Morvan

Special Guests: Assistant Professor of Communication Dr. Nickesia Gordon and Professor of Political Science Dr. Sean Foreman

Please RSVP to ksmellie@mail.barry.edu or bmorvan@mail.barry.edu.
