Photography and the Documentation of Everyday Life

The Department of Communication, in collaboration with the Departments of Fine Arts and Sociology, will host an event titled "Photography and the Documentation of Everyday Life."

Location: David Brinkley Television Studio, Garner 150

The event is meant to be a timely discussion of practical and ethical considerations relating to how one crafts representations of other people using the medium of photography. It will feature guest speakers Anthony Harris and Johanne Rahaman.

Harris’ discussion, titled “What You See,” will focus on street, candid and performance photojournalism. Rahaman’s discussion, titled Ethics in Documenting,” centers on the politics of approaching others.
