Bucs To Receive National Championship Rings

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Two Buccaneer teams which captured NCAA Division II national titles will be recognized and receive their championship rings on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 in the Landon Atrium on the campus of Barry University. The ceremony will begin at 4:30 pm.

The men's tennis team capped their second undefeated season in three years and won their third championship since 2010 last spring. The Bucs went a perfect 26-0, capturing Sunshine State Conference regular season and tournament titles, the South Region championship and the NCAA Division II National Championship. They defeated number-one ranked Hawai'i Pacific 5-4 in the title match.

The women's rowing team won their first national title in dominating fashion. The Bucs cruised to wins in both the Varsity 4+ and 8+ finals, finishing ahead of runner-up Mercyhurst in both races. The Bucs also won the SSC title and took home a gold at the Dad Vail.

The Bucs will receive rings and scrapbooks, enjoy a video recap of the championships and receive congratulations from their coach, the athletic department and the University administration.
