NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Barry University men's golf team is ranked second in the Golf World/Nike NCAA Division II national preseason poll, released Wednesday.
The Buccaneers received 417 points, trailing top-ranked and defending national champ Nova Southeastern (424) by seven points in the poll. Nova received 15 of a possible 18 first-place votes.
Barry advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals last season in Simpsonville, Ky.
Last year's runner-up Chico State is ranked third, followed by Cal State-Stanislaus and South Carolina-Aiken. No. 6 Lynn, No. 8 Georgia College and No. 13 Abilene Christian each received one first place vote.
Central Oklahoma was ranked seventh, Western Washington ninth and Central Missouri 10th.
