Taylor Babcock is tied for 18th after two rounds at the season-opening Fall Preview in Daytona Beach.

Barry University women's golf team is within striking distance entering the final round of the NCAA Division II Fall Preview at the LPGA Legends Course in Daytona Beach. The Buccaneers are lurking behind leader Lynn.

The Buccaneers shot 305-313 -- 618 through the first two rounds of the 2012-13 season-opening event, and sit 12 strokes behind the Fighting Knights, with whom Barry shared the first round lead.

Buccaneers freshman Nicky Ferre shot 78-74 -- 152 on the par-72 course. She is in ninth place, seven strokes behind leader Florida Tech's Rachel Polson, who will take a 72-73 -- 145 into Tuesday's final round. Dallas Baptist's Sydney Williams is second at 146, and West Florida's Camila Sevillano and Florida Southern's are tied for third at 149. Three Lynn golfers, Irene Calvo, Ellen Chambers and Samantha Smolen are within a stroke of each other at 150, 150 and 151, respectively, in the fifth through eighth spots.

Barry's Taylor Babcock is tied for 18th at 74-81 -- 155, along with teammate Paola Grande, who shot 76-79 -- 155. Nancy Vergara shot 77-79 -- 156 and is tied for 24th. Maria Paola Fiorio is tied for 42nd at 80-83 -- 163.

Florida Tech is three strokes behind the Bucs in third place, followed by Central Oklahoma and Florida Southern, who follow successively by a stroke behind the Bronchos.
