MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's No. 7-ranked women's golf team will compete in the Southwest Minnesota State Spring Invitational Thursday and Friday at LPGA Legends Course in Daytona Beach.

Barry will be playing the Legends Course for the second time this season. It is also the site of the NCAA Championships in May.

The Buccaneers remained No. 7 in the NCAA Division II poll conducted by the Women's Golf Coaches Association released this week. It marks the second straight month the Buccaneers are ranked seventh in the country.

In the first tournament of the 2012-13 season, the Bucs finished second out of 13 teams at LPGA Legends, shooting 618 in the two-round NCAA Division II Fall Preview Sept. 17-18. Barry freshman Nicky Ferre was ninth on the individual leader board, carding an 8-over 152 in the event -- her first as a Buccaneer. Bucs teammates Paola Grande and Taylor Babcock tied for 18th in that tournament, both shooting 11-over 155.

Lynn won the Fall Preview, and will compete in this week's event as well. A total of 10 teams are scheduled to vie for the SMSS Spring Invitational title.
