Alumni Shaquille O’Neal, EdD, guest lectures in ADSOE doctoral class

Barry University alumnus Shaquille O’Neal, EdD ’12, recently appeared as a guest lecturer in ADSOE’s organizational learning and leadership master’s level course, HRD 653:Career Development and Life Work Planning. O’Neal discussed his time at Barry and how he balanced his busy schedule while completing his degree.

O’Neal spent the majority of the lecture discussing his work-life-school challenges as he completed his doctoral degree in organizational learning and leadership with a specialization in human resource development. He encouraged the students to focus on having a balanced life that includes time for themselves.

The HRD 669 overviews the theories and skill areas in educational planning, career development, and work motivation.

O’Neal was joined by alumna Cynthia Atterberry, EdD ’12, who spoke to the class about the importance of reflecting on how to achieve goals, both professionally and personally.
