MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – A season full of achievement has come to an end for Barry women’s soccer as they fell to SSC rival Saint Leo 2-0 in the second round of the NCAA Division II Sub-Region Tournament.

Goals from midfielders Genevieve Gignac and Katie Waddell in the 13th and 35th minutes gave the Lions a 2-0 lead going into halftime.

The Buccaneers spent most of the game trying to get at least one goal to give themselves a chance to tie it up but even with 22 shots and nine shots-on-goal, the Bucs just couldn’t find the net and were eliminated the tournament.

This was the final game at Barry for seniors Becca Rogers, Ashley Harlan, Jojo Frigerio, Lauren Manna, and redshirt-junior Kayla Nanoo.

The Bucs return 14 letter-winners next season from the two-time defending Sunshine State champions.
