Florida Nurses Association South Region Symposium awards College of Nursing and Health Sciences professors

Barry University professors from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences were recognized by the Florida Nurses Association South Region last month. Dr. Claudette Chin, assistant professor of Nursing was awarded the Nurse Educator Award and Dr. Maureen Shaw, assistant professor of nursing was awarded the Community Action Award. The Fifth Annual Florida Nurses Association South Region Symposium was held at the Signature Grand in Davie, Fl., on April 11, 2015.

Many were in attendance from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences including the Dean, Dr. John McFadden, and Dr. Gerhild Packert, Associate Dean, who were supporting the winners alongside many of the faculty.

The Florida Nurses Association advances the nursing profession by fostering high standards of nursing practice, promoting the rights of nurses in the workplace, projecting a positive and realistic view of nursing. The Florida Nurses Association advocates Congress and regulatory agencies on health care issues affecting nurses and the public.
