The Center for Community Service Initiatives (CCSI) recently hosted Barry’s third annual Community Engagement Awards. Students, student organizations, faculty members and two departments were among those honored. Four community partners received awards as well.
In all, 18 awards in six categories were presented at the event, which included the recognition of several community partners.

The award presenters were Dr. Scott Smith, vice president for Student Affairs; Susan Rosenthal, vice president for Business and Finance; Rev. Cristóbal Torres, OP, university chaplain; Dr. Jill Farrell, dean of the School of Education; Dr. Victor Romano, chair of the Faculty Senate; Dr. Karen Callaghan, associate vice president for undergraduate studies; and Dr. Christopher Starratt, interim provost and vice president for Mission and Institutional Effectiveness.
Prior to the Community Engagement Awards Ceremony, CCSI presented its Service Award to three Barry staff members: Sandra Acevedo (Human Performance and Leisure Sciences) and Kerri-Quaan Stewart and Grace Ralfelt (Division of Information Technology). CCSI also presented certificates to Community Impact Award finalists Angela Greggs, Anthony Torres and Jill Williams.
