Alumna Maura Padron was recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) for her portrayal of homelessness in South Florida.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS)’ Second Annual Student Production Awards Suncoast Chapter has recognized Maura Padron for her short-form nonfiction documentary, Unseen, a portrayal of homelessness in our community.

Padron, who was awarded first place for her capstone project from the Suncoast Chapter in the College Student, Short Form - Nonfiction category opened up a conversation around what remains a critical issue in South Florida and highlighted voices that don’t usually have the spotlight.

The Suncoast Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is a nonprofit Florida corporation dedicated to excellence in television.
