Elementary I-II Specialization

Montessori (MS, EdS)

Master of Science (MS) degree in Montessori Elementary I-II Specialization The 39-credit prepares you to implement the Montessori curriculum for children ages six through twelve years.

Special tools for developing literacy and mathematical skills make learning personalized, meaningful and long-lasting. The breadth and depth of the curriculum:

  1. Ignites intellectual curiosity.
  2. Awakens a special kinship with nature.
  3. Inspires gratitude to those who have contributed in the past to benefit humankind.

Required Courses (12 Credits)

Note:

  • EDR-601 (for M.S.) is required in first half of coursework.
  • EDM-600 is waived for students with previous Montessori certified training

Elementary I-II Courses (24 Credits)

Electives (3 Credits)

Electives are chosen in consultation with the Program Director (Academic Advisor) depending on areas of interest.

Specialist (EdS) degree in Montessori Elementary I-II Specialization If you already hold a master’s degree, the 45-credit program includes a synthesis of the Early Childhood curriculum for the specialists in Elementary I-II.

Required Courses (12 Credits)

Note:

  • EDR-708 (for Ed.S.) is required in first half of coursework.
  • EDM-600 is waived for students with previous Montessori certified training.
