Susannah Nesmith is an award-winning journalist with more than 20 years of experience reporting locally and around the world. Her work regularly appears in in Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The New York Times and The Daily Business Review. She has also been published in Poder Hispanic, AARP Bulletin, The Jewish Chronicle of London, The Economist Intelligence Unit, The St. Petersburg Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The San Jose Mercury News, The Atlanta Constitution, The Austin American Statesman, The Bakersfield Californian, Planning, Miami New Times, and other publications.
She worked as a staff writer and editor at The Miami Herald, as a staff writer at The Palm Beach Post, and as a foreign correspondent at The Associated Press. She has covered wars, civil conflicts and natural disasters in Iraq, Colombia, Haiti, Turkey, Venezuela and New Orleans. She has also covered major legal cases throughout Florida.
Ms. Nesmith teaches introductory journalism at Barry and advises the award-winning, student-run newspaper, The Barry Buccaneer. She also serves on the steering committee of the Student Press Law Center.
