Designed exclusively for high school graduates who want to delay their college entry, Barry University's Gap Year Program offers the freedom to grow self-confidence and explore career pathways through structured learning and service opportunities.
Barry's program emphasizes self-discovery, mentorship, and exploration in the European tradition of the educational and service-oriented gap year. We combine topical workshops with one-on-one mentorship and community engagement. As students prepare for a more focused and successful college career, they spend time getting to know themselves and their unique interests.
Why Take a Gap Year with Barry?

Barry provides a gap year experience that encourages growth and discovery while also establishing clear benchmarks for success. Our 16-week program includes focused workshops, pre-college practicums, cultural experiences, mentoring sessions, and service-learning projects that create a framework for individual advancement. Participants also tailor their experience to their specific area of interest by choosing a certificate tract in Technology, Health, Business, or Leadership.
How Is Barry’s Gap Year Program Structured?
Our Gap Year is 16 weeks. Throughout the program, participants will engage in structured learning and service opportunities and exploratory activities.

The Gap Year Program is $2,999 for 16 weeks of structured experiential and service- learning.
