Hosted by the Graduate Nursing students of Barry University’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences Nurse Practitioner program, the Health & Wellness Fair aims to reduce health risk and disease burden in our communities. Students will conduct screenings for diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, HIV, hyperlipidemia and hepatitis C. Students will also provide active demonstrations on healthy food selections for cooking and snacking. There will be education on heart disease, stroke and cancer awareness and the importance of screening for these when possible. Additionally, there will be plenty of activities for kids, adolescents, young adults and the elderly.
Join our students for a free Health & Wellness Fair showcasing educational activities for the whole family. Students will provide the public with disease prevention, and health promotion information, healthy living, fitness tips, health screening opportunities and health screening opportunities.
With the cooperation of local healthcare provider and county health organizations, the Health & Wellness Fair ensures a fun experience to promote healthy living, while educating the public and at-risk communities.
This event is free and open to the general public.

Event promotion includes a 20,000 distribution of print and email communications through South Florida Hospital News, a digital media buy including 100,000 resident emails, partnerships with Hollywood CRA, and the Chamber of Commerce, as well as digital billboards along I-95 and the popular vinyl banner over Hollywood Blvd.
Event day promotion will include live streaming social media encouraging local residents to come out and experience the Health & Wellness Fair.
