In 2019, Dr. De La Cruz joined Barry University’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences bringing his extensive clinical background in telemetry, medical surgical, progressive care unit, urgent cares and outpatient medical services. Dr. De La Cruz is currently practicing as a primary care provider for a local clinic in South Florida. Also, he provides Tele-Health medical services as well.
Dr. De La Cruz has held numerous roles in academia including lead faculty in different programs for the last couple of years. He enjoys working with undergraduate and graduates students and supporting them in their academic and professional roles.
He currently is an active member of the Florida Nurses Association (FNA), Florida Association of Nurse Practitioners (FLANP), Florida American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and Sigma Theta Tau (STT). Dr. De La Cruz’s research interest includes primary and cardiovascular health disparities in underserved populations. He participates in local and national events for advanced clinical training.
