Born in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico, Carolina Fernandez has been a resident of Miami, Florida since 1992.
Carolina joined the Nursing team at Barry University in January of 2013. She began as a temp when the College was then known as the Division of Nursing and came on board permanently as the Administrative Assistant III to the NP and DNP Specializations program in July of that same year. Along with Nursing’s evolvement here at Barry, the Division of Nursing became the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and Carolina now serves as the Administrative Specialist for the NP and DNP programs.
Carolina came to Barry with extensive office experience surpassing 8 years in an administrative capacity. With a love, passion and fascination to understand and help others, in 2007 Carolina enrolled in Florida International University’s School of Social Work. While studying she took on the challenge to pursue another lifelong dream of hers – to act. After graduating with honors, she became committed and focused to achieve her dream and was cast for theater productions, commercials along with numerous short films and feature films.
After years in the acting world, she was blessed with a son and spending time with her new family quickly became her main focus. With the Arts being a strong part of who she is, she became an Art and Spanish teacher at a Christian school in Miami teaching children in Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade. It was there that she dedicated her life to Jesus and branched out to focus on serving Him. Carolina still exercises her creative side through different mediums, one of them being photography. Being a photographer on the side she is also currently serving in the photography ministry at her church, Calvary Chapel of Kendall, primarily serving at their South Beach and Wynwood locations.
