Lauren Schwal, DNP, RN-BC, CNE, CHSE
Lauren Schwal is prepared as a clinical nurse specialist in high risk maternal/child nursing and has her MSN and BSN from SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn, and her DNP in Educational Leadership from American Sentinel University. Lauren's research is related to cultural competence and student advisement.
Lauren is currently certified in Professional Staff Development (RN-BC), Nursing Education (CNE), and Healthcare Simulation (CHSE). Her passion and specialty practice is pediatrics. She is the course coordinator for pediatrics and includes pediatric simulation in all pediatric courses. In addition to pediatrics, Lauren’s love is teaching and mentoring students. She is an active student advisor and faculty consultant for the Nursing Students’ Association at Barry. Lauren is also the BLS/CPR coordinator for the Barry University College of Nursing.
