The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Histotechnology program is designed for students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in biology or related field meeting all pre-requisites. This 4 + 1 program prepares you for histotechnology certification with one year of additional study. Students receive intense training through a combination of lectures, hands-on laboratory experience and clinical interns

Preparing You for ASCP Certification

Students completing the certificate program are eligible to sit for the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification examination.

Internships

The program includes a five-month internship at clinical affiliate sites in South Florida. Internships are scheduled during the daytime hours in accordance with the schedule of the assigned clinical site. The internship provides practical hands-on experience that prepares the student for a career as a histotechnologist.

Accreditation

Barry’s Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Histotechnology program is accredited by NAACLS as a 4+1 program. It is one of only three NAACLS-accredited histotechnologist training programs in the United States.

The granting of the degree or certificate must not be contingent upon the student passing any type external certification examination.
