Graduate Student Housing

As a full-time graduate student, you would have the following housing options:

  1. Graduate students who apply for housing will most likely be offered housing at the Best Western, Inn-on-the- Bay, a local hotel at which we have accommodated students for over five years.
  2. The university leases an apartment complex on NE 88th Terrace, about two miles from the Miami Shores campus. Studio apartments which may be available within that complex, after the undergraduate room lottery, are offered to graduate students applying for housing on a first-applied, first-assigned basis.

All spaces being offered to graduate students (hotel rooms or studio apartments) are private rooms with private baths. The housing charge is $4255.00 per semester; your meal plan is not included and must be purchased separately. Please note: The University does not provide housing for spouses or children.

Transportation. Both the hotel and the apartment complex are several miles from the university. The University provides no transportation to and from these sites. Students are responsible for providing their own transportation.

Meal Plans. If you reside in university housing, you must purchase a commuter student meal plan, which can be used in the dining hall, the BucStop, and Grill 155.

Rental Listing. The University also posts rental/room listings submitted from residents in the surrounding area. This listing is posted strictly for your convenience. We do not maintain an off-campus University housing office. Barry employees do not inspect these premises, and the University does not take responsibility for any problems relating to the rental and/or use of these premises.

Contact. If you have questions, or would like an application packet, you can contact the Office of Residential Life at reslife@mail.barry.edu or call 305-899-3875 or 1-800-756-6000, ext. 3875.
