Financial Aid

Your hard work pays at Barry Law

Barry offers financial aid assistance to all entering students including stipends, scholarships, and grants.

  • Merit-based scholarships

All admitted candidates are automatically considered for merit scholarships by the Admissions office and do not need to complete any additional forms. These scholarships are based on your undergraduate GPA and your LSAT score. Award details are sent out with your official acceptance letter so you know from the very start how much you will receive in scholarship. These awards are renewable annually based on renewal provision of 2.6 – 3.0 cumulative Law School GPA.
  • Dean’s Award Grant

Keeping in line with the mission of Barry and our core commitments, Barry Law offers a limited number of one-time award grants based on financial need.
  • Practice-area Stipends

We offer additional stipends in three specific practice areas: Trial Team/Criminal Litigation, Environmental and Earth Law, and Child and Family Law. These renewable awards of up to $5,000 per year are by application only through the Office of Admissions. They are awarded to a limited number of students who wish to practice in these specific areas of law.
  • Top 10 Percent

Students who finish their first year in the top 10 percent of their class will receive a 75 percent scholarship. This scholarship is renewable annually contingent on the student remaining in the top 10 percent.

In addition to financial aid assistance, entering students are eligible for the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan regardless of financial circumstances. This federal loan covers up to $20,500 or your yearly tuition. The remaining tuition (minus any stipends, scholarships, and grants) can be covered via the Federal Direct Grad Plus Loan.
