The Division of Institutional Advancement invites the Barry community to a memorial Mass for Ms. Gloria Spadaro, member of the Barry Auxiliary and member of the Barry University Covenant Society.

Spadaro was a resident of El Portal for many years and, like many in her family, a professional in the business world. She was a very loving and generous aunt to 17 nieces and nephews and 27 grandnieces and grandnephews, a world traveler and devout Catholic. Gloria chose Barry University students as the beneficiaries of her estate by setting up the Eugene, Louise and Gloria Spadaro Endowed Scholarship for undergraduate students in the D. Inez Andreas School of Business at Barry University.
For many years, Gloria came to Barry’s campus for activities and events as a member of the Barry University Auxiliary, a group of friends and alumnae volunteers who were a part of campus life from 1976 through 2007. Their annual “Crazy Hat Luncheon” was a scholarship fundraiser that assisted students in financial need at Barry University. For 31 years, Barry University Auxiliary members supported many of our students and made provisions in their estate planning to continue that commitment. Gloria was one of those valiant women and her family scholarship will remain as long as there is a Barry University.
Ms. Spadaro was buried at St. Mary’s/St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Ellenville, NY in June.
