First published in 2009 by the Departments of Campus Ministry and of Theology and Philosophy and adopted as a university-wide text in 2010, “Mission Statement and Core Commitments: A Commentary” proposed to explore the meaning and spirit of three essential elements of life and ministry at Barry University: Catholic identity, Dominican heritage, and Adrian Dominican foundation. The purpose of the Commentary was threefold: to inform the University community of the guiding principles of the Mission and Core Commitments, to motivate the University community to embrace these principles and to enhance the ability of the University community to put these principles into practice.
