Death Penalty Prayer Vigil

Death Penalty Prayer Vigil

The Department of Campus Ministry, in collaboration with Dr. Laura Finley and the students in her Sociology of Violence class, invites members of the Barry community to participate in a Prayer Vigil for Mr. Darius Kimbrough, who is to be executed in the State of Florida at 6:00 pm Tuesday, November 12, 2013, to pray for the suffering of the victims and their families and for healing and forgiveness for all involved.

This Prayer Vigil embraces the Catholic Church’s teaching on respecting the human dignity of all persons, and is in solidarity with Barry’s religious sponsors, the Adrian Dominican Sisters, who have taken a stand against the death penalty.

Time: 12:30 pm -12:50 pm
Location: Peace Pole in front of Cor Jesu Chapel
