More than 120 members of the Division of Business and Finance attended the 5th Annual Divisional Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, December 18th. In addition to recognizing all employees, four were singled out as the Division of Business and Finance Excellence Award winners.
Recipients were selected for exemplifying the excellence by going above and beyond their job duties in their service in and out of the office.
The Rewards & Recognition Committee, for Business and Finance, is proud to announce this year’s award recipients:
Leadership Award – Yvonne Falloon, Senior Financial Accountant for Finance
- Recognizes an individual who inspires others to achieve excellence. Motivates and sets an example of excellence for others to follow, while moving their team/department toward goals that area in line with Barry’s mission.
Shining Star Award – Ana McNally, Financial Grants Manager for Finance
- Recognizes an individual who has made contributions to the University without regard to personal gain or profit. A Shining Star employee demonstrates a good work ethic, sets a good example for others and is an excellent team player.
Team Player Award – Joaquin (Jack) Gasso, Category Manager for Purchasing
- Recognizes an individual who works exceptionally well with others, both within the department and throughout the Barry community; possesses a willingness to collaborate and tends to be more concerned about getting the job accomplished rather than receiving the credit.
Service Excellence Award – Astride Alexis, Employment Assistant for Human Resources
- Recognizes an individual who demonstrates professionalism by serving the needs of the university community; always taking the extra step to ensure courtesy and integrity in all aspects of their position. This individual embraces innovation and continually improves the university’s business.
