ST. Petersburg, Fla.—The weather and the Eckerd Tritons got the better of the Barry Buccaneers softball team on Friday. The Tritons won the first game and the second was called midway through due to weather.

FIRST GAME

The Tritons (24-21, 9-11 SSC) scored two in the fourth and two more in the six to win 4-1 in the first game.

In the fourth, Kaycie Duncan dropped a squeeze bunt down to score Amber Hay and Syndey Dinelli had an RBI single to give Eckerd a 2-1 lead.

Kara Oberer lifted a two-run homer in the sixth to provide insurance.

Hay (10-9) worked a complete game for the win. She held the Bucs to four hits and two walks and struck out four.

Barry got its only run in the first. Megan Copeland singled up the middle with one out and stole second. Julie Brito singled to right for the run.

Taylor Sabol (8-8) took the loss for the Bucs. She gave up four runs on five hits and a walk and struck out seven in six innings.

SECOND GAME

The second game was called in the bottom of the fourth inning due to a huge storm that wiped out play. The game will not be made up.
