Professional Writing alumna lands story on NPR

Barry University alumna Nadege Green, B.S. ’09, recently made her debut appearance reporting for National Public Radio’s All Things Considered. Green produced a report about murdered American journalist Steven Sotloff.

“Remembering Steven Sotloff, Who Drew Portraits From The Syrian War” chronicles the life and career of Sotloff, who was beheaded by the militant group the Islamic State in early September. Her piece aired nationally on All Things Considered on Sept.3, 2014.

A writer for The Miami Herald, Green became a well-known name in 2012 when she wrote a series of stories covering Rudy Eugene’s assault on a homeless man on Miami’s MacArthur Causeway. Though Green’s previously reports have aired locally on WLRN, this is the first time one of her stories has aired nationally.

Green was the feature of an alumni profile article in 2013.
