Women's Golf Ties for 9th at Guy Harvey Invitational

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Barry University women’s golf team tied for ninth at the Guy Harvey Invitational hosted by Nova Southeastern Tuesday.

The Buccaneers shot 316-312 – 628 to match Rollins in the 18-team tournament at PGA National Golf Club’s Palmer Course. Lynn won the tournament with a 605. Nova Southeastern finished second with a 613. Flagler and Cal Baptist tied for third at 615.

Barry’s Martina Bertuccioli shot 76-74 -150 to finish eighth. Maria Paola Fiorio tied for 21st at 76-78 – 154.

Savannah College Art & Design’s Alazne Urizar shot a 1-over 73-70 – 143 to win the individual medalist honor on the par-72, 6,163-yard course. Lynn’s Jessica Bradley was second at 147. NSU’s Mailen Domecq Chantry and Lynn’s Samantha Smolen tied for third at 148.

Playing in her first tournament, Barry’s Houria El Abbadi shot 79-78 – 157 to tie for 32nd. Nicky Ferre shot 85-82 – 167 to tie for 66th. Carolina Heredia shot 87-83 – 170 to tie for 77th in her first tournament of the season.

The Bucs will compete in the Saint Leo Invitational Oct. 20-21 in Lake Jovita, Fla.
