Discover the World’s biggest Dirty Little Secret

Discover the World’s biggest Dirty Little Secret

During the month of March, especially on World Water Day on March 22, join Follett Higher Education Group and Key Club International, to learn about World’s biggest Dirty Little Secret.

What is the World’s biggest dirty little secret you ask?

The answer: 748 million people on our planet do not have access to safe, clean drinking water.

The solution?

Fill up a water bottle full of dirty water (see link to recipe below). Carry the bottle around all month long. Carry it in school, at your desk, to lunch, in the gym, at the dinner table; keep it with you everywhere you go! When people ask why you have a bottle filled with dirty water, tell them that 748 million people do not have access to safe, clean drinking water. Almost 1 billion people on our planet do not have access to safe, clean drinking water. Give Water. Give Life.

Water is the problem. Water is the solution. It might not cost as much to build and maintain a freshwater well as you think. The cost to build a freshwater well in developing nations ranges from between $7,800 in Uganda to $20,000 in Kenya. That means an entire community of people can be forever saved for as little as $7.8K!

All we have to do is reach the water that already exists in aquifers only 100-300 feet underground. One well can provide up to 500 people with clean water indefinitely. One well can save lives.

When you bring safe water into a community, disease drops by upwards 88% nearly overnight. Child mortality drops by nearly 99%/ The solution is too simple and the victory points are too easily attainable for us to continue to ignore the number one killer of children globally.

The solution is water. The solution is us. The solution is you.
