Dr. Evelio Velis, director and professor of Health Services Administration, presented at the third Mediterranean Interdisciplinary Forum on Social Sciences and Humanities in Barcelona, Spain this May.
The presentation was based on his study: The AIDS epidemic in South Florida: Black Non-Hispanics in our communities remain increasingly vulnerable. Dr. Velis served as chair for two scientific sessions during the conference. The forum is an academic summit geared toward uniting researchers in the area of social sciences and humanities. Through their scientific findings, they hope to contribute to the development of interdisciplinary concepts in higher education.
