Podiatric Medicine students achieve 98 percent pass rates on boards part I

Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine reported 98 percent pass rates for the class of 2017 on the American Podiatric Medical Licensing Exam (APMLE) Part 1 board examination. Barry's scores rank higher than the national average of 94 percent.

“The School of Podiatric Medicine continues to make significant gains in student achievement making it an exciting time to be part of the Barry community,” said Interim Dean of the School of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Albert Armstrong.

Students enrolled in any of the nine colleges of Podiatric Medicine in the country are required to pass Parts 1 & 2 of the APMLE series before beginning residency training. Part 3 of the APMLE is taken during residency. The APMLE series is overseen by the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners.
