Barry alumna joins Council for Exceptional Children’s Executive Board of Directors

Barry University alumna, Jennifer Lesh, won a non-designated member-at-large position on the Council for Exceptional Children’s (CEC) Executive Board of Directors. The Executive Board is the organization’s administrative, general legislative, and policy making body. The Board of Directors establishes strategic direction for Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), addresses issues of concern, and sets policy. 

Her term began January 1, 2016 and runs until December 31, 2018. Prior to being elected to this position, Lesh served as the CEC’s Representative Assembly Committee Chairperson.

Lesh graduated from Barry’s PhD in Leadership and Education with a specialization in Exceptional Student Education in May 2013. She worked in the Palm Beach County School District for 21 years serving in a variety of positions, including exceptional student education (ESE) teacher for students with Learning Disabilities and Emotional/Behavioral Disorders, ESE specialist, Response to Intervention/Problem Solving specialist, and a high school dean.

Currently, Lesh is an Assistant Professor at Lynn University Ross College of Education, coordinator of the ESE Master's Program, and Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society advisor.
