Occupational Therapy students take part in CNC Health & Wellness Fair

Students from Barry University’s Occupational Therapy program in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences recently participated in the community health, safety and wellness fair sponsored by Cuban-American National Council (CNC), which focuses on “nurturing Hispanic communities.”

The fair serves the needs of the underserved local Hispanic community and aims to facilitate healthy living to all families through education. Students provided attendees with resources and demonstrations on exercises and strategies for fall prevention, childhood obesity prevention, and good hygiene/disease prevention.

Founded in 1972, CNC was created to research and help address the needs of Cuban-Americans as they transitioned into American Society. The council offers a variety of programs for children, youth, adults and the elderly. For more information, visit cnc.org.
