Important changes to email/OneDrive files for students

On Wednesday, December 14, 2016, improvements to Office 365, the university’s platform used to host e-mail, documents and other Microsoft applications, will be finalized.  All Barry students, faculty and staff accounts unite on a single platform that broaden collaboration and communication.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO EMAIL/ONEDRIVE FILES

Faculty/staff members:

There are NO changes for faculty and staff. This project only affects student Office 365 email and student OneDrive for Business file storage.

Faculty/staff members who also have a student email account:

Any faculty or staff member that also has a current student email account (@mymail.barry.edu OR @law.barry.edu) will need to take actions to move wanted email and/or any files stored in OneDrive for Business from their student account to the new account. If this relates to you, you will receive further instructions.

What are the benefits?

The Division of Information Technology is currently engaged in improving the university's platform that hosts email, documents, and other Microsoft applications by consolidating them into a single environment.

  • Office 365 – mail, calendar, and contact sharing and visibility of the global address list (university directory)
  • OneDrive for Business file storage – cloud storage to easily share files and collaborate on documents with instructors and classmates.
  • Skype for Business – chat, video, and presentation sharing.
  • Microsoft Office 365 apps (Sway, Forms, Class Notebook, etc) – full sharing and sending within the same organization.

We encourage you to partner with us and support students in this process.  Stay tuned for additional help videos, support articles and information.
