Happy, Healthy and Peaceful Rosh Hashanah

Happy, Healthy and Peaceful Rosh Hashanah

The Department of Campus Ministry wishes our Jewish sisters and brothers a very happy and blessed Rosh Hashanah.

Rosh Hashanah begins the evening of Wednesday September 20th and ends the evening of Friday September 22nd.

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, commemorates the special relationship between G-d and humanity. The blowing of the shofar, ram’s horn, represents the trumpet blast announcing the coronation of G-d as King, and thus the renewal of this special relationship. The cry of the shofar is also a reminder that the new year provides an opportunity for self-improvement and strengthening of one’s relationship with G-d and His creations.
