ABOUT THE PRESENTATION

The concept of re-existence is rooted in the constructive social practices of the marginalized who seek intervention for alternative ways of living together according to dignity, justice, peace, and care for integral ecology. Approaches to re-existence develop visions to overcome destructive violence, fragmentation, and hopelessness, which prevent imagination from shaping meaningful futures and alternative ways of organizing life beyond survival and resistance. This lecture will explore the theological significance of the global initiatives for re-existence and suggests themes for a creative contribution of Catholic theology to the dynamics of re-existence in today’s world.
