COVID-19 Protocols at Barry Locations

COVID-19 Protocols at Barry Locations

Welcome back for the Spring 2021 semester. As we begin another term during this “temporary normal,” it is critical all students, faculty and staff continue their vigilance when it comes to guarding against the spread of COVID-19 within our community. While we look forward to widespread vaccine availability, infection numbers are rising steadily in Florida and throughout the country and all previously outlined university protocols to promote health and safety remain in effect.

As a reminder:

  • Face coverings are required indoors and outdoors, with very limited exception. The only time it is permissible to not wear a face covering at a Barry University campus or site is if you are alone, in your residence hall room with your roommate, or actively eating. Face coverings are required to be back in place after finishing a meal, even if you are still visiting at the table.
  • The majority of university events and meetings will take place virtually. For in-person events or meetings as well as classes, it is important to adhere to reduced room capacity limits. When appropriate, in-person events or meetings should take place outdoors.
  • All students, faculty and staff should continue practicing physical distancing and frequent hand washing.
  • All individuals within the Barry University community must complete a COVID-19 Initial Notification Form if they are experiencing symptoms, have been exposed to someone diagnosed with the disease, or have themselves been diagnosed with COVID-19. It is important that the form be filled out immediately at the onset of symptoms or suspected exposure so contact tracing can begin, limiting the potential spread of infection. Please do not wait for test results to complete the notification.

We look forward to another successful semester!
