Progress And Success At The Barry Entrepreneurship Lab

The Barry Entrepreneurship Lab launched in Fall 2019 as a resource for students to grow their business ideas and learn from successful leaders across a range of professional disciplines. Joan Philips, Dean of the Andreas School of Business, spearheaded the initial approval process to acquire the capital needed for the BE Lab’s construction. Dr. Dale Hartz, Assistant Professor of Management, is the founding director.

After only a year in operation, the BE Lab (in Thompson, next to the Bucstop) has become a destination for students who want to bring their business ideas to fruition. Here, you can develop your business plan, utilize state-of-the-art equipment and technology to design and prototype your products and services, practice pitching investors, learn strategies for raising capital, establish a sound legal structure for your organization, and gain business insights from a team of faculty advisors. The BE Lab also offers many opportunities to connect with entrepreneurs and business professionals from Miami and around the country.
